FAQ

Here you will find the answers to questions I'm often asked prior to attending a class

If you don’t manage to find exactly what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’ll be happy to answer all of your questions.  Head to our Contact page.

WHAT STYLE OF YOGA DO YOU TEACH?

With many influences over the years I do not align to one particular school or style of yoga.

I like to focus on releasing tension from the body through movement and use of the breath, then aligning the body before strengthening and stretching through postures and poses.  We take time to work into each pose, taking time to observe the body, and then we come out and let go of the pose before moving on to the next.  We do not flow into and out of poses.

WHICH OF YOUR CLASSES IS BEST SUITED FOR ME?

All my classes are suitable for complete beginners through to intermediate.  I encourage all clients to work at their own pace and to work with, and to listen to their body.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

For your first class no equipment is required.  I have mats that you may borrow for a couple of classes, after this I suggest clients buy their own.  We also use some some props on occasion, including blocks, belts and chairs but these are provided unless you choose  to purchase your own.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

You should wear clothing that you are comfortable in that is suitable for moving around in.  We work in bare feet (encouraged) but some clients choose to wear toe socks or yoga socks with grips on the bottom.

SHOULD I ARRIVE EARLY FOR MY CLASS?

Ideally you should arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the class to allow yourself time to get settled

DO CLASSES RUN EVERY WEEK?

YES!  With the exception of 2 weeks at Christmas, and 1 or 2 weeks throughout the year, classes run every week including school holidays.

WHAT IS CHAIR YOGA?

Chair Yoga delivers everything we offer in a Hatha Yoga class without the need to get down on the floor.  We do seated work on the chair, and standing work with the aid of the chair for balance should you need it.
